Three Homeschooling Mamas You Should Know

If you are like me, you have little time to spend actually reading blog posts. I tend to be quite focused. I only visit sites that will answer my questions or teach me something I desperately need to know. If I decide to follow a blogger and read her regular posts, she has to meet certain criteria:

  • She must be knowledgeable about the subjects that are dearest to me
  • She must have a servant’s heart, with the desire to elevate others and glorify Jesus
  • Her blog cannot be all about the latest homeschooling and Christian fads or constant harping on product (nothing wrong with some paid promotions, just not as a constant diet)
  • The information offered must be practical and helpful

With these standards in mind, there aren’t too many that I subscribe to. When I do find quality reading online, I like to share it and promote it. In this way I am blessing both my readers and some hard-working moms who deserve extra traffic and encouragement.

So, while doing a bunch of research for this upcoming homeschool year, I came across three terrific bloggers, all new to me, that I thought you would love to follow, too. I thought it would be fun to give a little rundown on each and add in a few links that I found quite interesting.

Here they are (in alphabetical order):

  1. Flanders Family Homelife

This one is written by a mom with ten children. There is so much wisdom here! There are posts on:

There are also some terrific printables, including scripture coloring pages and prayer posters, as well as calendars and chore charts. This is one site I have returned to often over the past few weeks, and I am using some of her ideas and resources in our daily routine.

2.Plain and Not So Plain

This is another large family mom who works really hard to bring affordable resources to her readers. As the mom of 10, she knows what it means to have a servant’s heart, and it shows in the way she shares practical ways to serve God and be a true Proverbs 31 woman. The gist of her blog is that, no matter what your circumstances, God will make a way, if you are willing to listen and work hard.

One of  the things I love about her online presence is her video series. She takes the time to give loads of information that is so hopeful and helpful! Here are some of the things she covers:

  • Homeschooling for free
  • Less stuff more life
  • Homemaking basics

Her down-to-earth way of communicating the simple ways she navigates through her life gives one a boost of encouragement and comfort. You can tell she spends time listening to the Holy Spirit.

She even shares complete math and language arts programs that are free to download or can be purchased already printed from Amazon for an extremely reasonable price.

3. There’s No Place Like Home

This lady makes me smile. She is the bubbly and enthusiastic mom of 11 with a can-do attitude. She practices a relaxed homeschooling style and loves notebooking (just like me).

This post, Ten Reasons You Should Use Notebooking in Your Homeschool, is a good example of what she has to offer.

Her videos are also informative and fun to watch (or just listen to, which is what I usually do).

Here are a few that answers important questions:

I hope I have given you some places to land on while you are hopping around the Internet, looking for something worthwhile to read or view.

  1. Many thanks for the inspiring blog! I have been blessed in so many ways since having stumbled upon this. I think it was on this blog somewhere you had shared a clip art link that you recommended. I searched around but could not fine it again. Would you mind sharing it again if you know what I am referring to? God bless you and keep up the encouraging posts!
